United StatesTraditional Tuscan Iron Latch
We have a very old teak armoire from the island of Sulawesi. The latch broke and we have looked for years for a replacement that not only works but fits the ambience of the piece. Works great! Looks great! Coming out to your foundry this Summer because we have a dozen iron projects that need attention.

Hello: I live in Oregon and am building a double garden gate. One half, aprox. dimension 4' X 4', will be held in place with a cane bolt. Which of your latches would be the most durable, and weather resistant for this application? Do your latches come with mounting hardware? Thank you, Ron Eugene, Oregon

They are all pretty durable in terms of material. Is there a specific style you are going for? The latches with more simple mechanics (like slide latches) will last longer just because there are not as many components that will wear out but that would be years down the road.
As for finishes - raw/unfinished, gun metal, wrought iron, and natural rust will all oxidize/rust fairly quickly. The rest of the colors all have a flat black base with hand applied patinas and a clear coat which helps prolong rusting. We recommend reapplying a non-yellowing clear coat about every two years.
Yes, they do come with mounting hardware, we will include our HCS-01 slotted screws in the same finish color as the latch and the right length for the thickness of the door/gate.
