Railing Panels & Sections

Railing Panels & Sections – Collection FAQs

1. What are railing panels and sections used for?
Railing panels and sections provide the structural and decorative infill for stair railings, balconies, decks, walkways, and interior architectural rail systems. They add safety, support, and visual style to any railing installation.

2. How are your railing panels different from standard prefab railing systems?
Old West Iron panels are built from thicker steel with stronger welds, solid construction, and hand-finished textures. Unlike lightweight aluminum or hollow-tube kits, our panels offer heirloom durability and authentic Old World wrought-iron character.

3. How do I choose the right railing panel size or style?
Measure your opening width and height, then select a panel that fits within your rail layout with proper mounting clearance. Choose styles that match your home’s aesthetic—rustic, traditional, Western, or Old World—and coordinate with your handrails and brackets.

4. What finishes and textures are available?
Railing panels come in matte black, natural iron, oil-rubbed bronze, and hand-distressed finishes. Hammered, peened, twisted, and antique textures are applied in-house to match our balusters, brackets, and other architectural ironwork.

5. Are your railing panels hand-forged?
Many components—scrolls, bars, finials, and textured elements—are hand-forged or hand-worked by our American blacksmiths. Structural bars and frames are precision-cut or welded, then individually finished for authentic wrought-iron style.

6. What are the lead times and where are they made?
Most railing panels and sections ship within 1–10 business days, depending on size, finish, and style. All decorative and custom-finished railing components are made or finished in the USA at our Idaho forge.
