Angle Iron

Our rustic angle iron is perfect for those looking to add strength, stability, and charm to their home. Angle Iron – Collection FAQs

1. What is angle iron used for?
Angle iron is used for structural reinforcement, framing, shelving, bracing, furniture building, gate construction, and architectural projects where strong 90-degree support is needed.

2. How is your angle iron different from standard hardware-store angle iron?
Old West Iron angle iron is cut from thicker, higher-grade steel with cleaner edges and superior straightness. Many pieces are also hand-finished for authentic forged texture—unlike thin, mass-produced stock found in big-box stores.

3. How do I choose the right size angle iron for my project?
Select your angle size based on load needs and visual scale. Larger or heavier angles are best for beams, shelves, and structural work; smaller sizes suit cabinetry, furniture, and detailed builds. Choose the length that fully spans your project’s bracing area.

4. What finishes and textures are available?
Angle iron can be ordered in natural steel, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, or hand-distressed rustic finishes. Textured surfaces—hammered, peened, or antique—are applied in-house to match our straps, brackets, and hardware lines.

5. Is your angle iron hand-forged?
The angle stock itself is roll-formed for accuracy, while decorative textures and finishes are hand-applied by our American blacksmiths. This gives even raw structural material an authentic Old World appearance.

6. What are the lead times and where is the angle iron made?
Most angle iron pieces ship within 1–10 business days, depending on size, finish, and length. All decorative finishing and order handling are completed in the USA at our Idaho forge.
