Foot Rail & Bar Footrail – Collection FAQs

1. What are foot rails and bar footrails used for?
Foot rails provide a comfortable resting point along bars, kitchen islands, tasting rooms, and commercial counters. They add both ergonomic support and a finished, architectural detail to bar builds.

2. How are your footrails different from standard bar rail kits?
Old West Iron footrails are crafted from thicker steel and solid components, with hand-finished textures and forged-style details. Unlike lightweight aluminum kits, our footrails offer true durability, old-world styling, and heirloom-level strength.

3. How do I choose the right size footrail for my bar?
Measure the full length of your bar front and select rail tubing or bar stock that spans the area with proper bracket spacing. Brackets should typically be placed every 3–4 feet, with end caps or returns sized to match your rail diameter.

4. What finishes and textures are available?
Foot rails are offered in matte black, natural iron, oil-rubbed bronze, and hand-distressed rustic finishes. Hammered, peened, or antique textures are applied in-house to coordinate with our brackets, handrails, and other architectural ironwork.

5. Are your foot rails hand-forged?
Many components—brackets, end caps, decorative collars, and textured elements—are hand-forged or hand-finished by our American blacksmiths. Straight rail sections are precision-cut or formed, then finished by hand for authentic wrought-iron character.

6. What are the lead times and where are they made?
Most footrails and components ship within 1–10 business days, depending on length, finish, and style. All decorative and custom-finished pieces are made or finished in the USA at our Idaho forge.
