Angle Braces – Collection FAQs

1. What are angle braces used for?
Angle braces are used to reinforce corners, shelves, beams, mantels, tables, gates, and timber-frame joints. They provide both structural support and decorative detailing in rustic, industrial, and heritage-style builds.

2. How are your angle braces different from standard hardware-store brackets?
Old West Iron angle braces are made from thicker steel with cleaner cuts, stronger construction, and hand-finished textures. Unlike thin stamped imports, our braces deliver true strength and the authentic forged look of traditional ironwork.

3. How do I choose the right size angle brace?
Match the brace arm length to the depth or height of the shelf, beam, or corner you’re reinforcing. For load-bearing applications, choose braces with thicker steel or larger profiles. Always confirm hole sizing to match your fasteners.

4. What finishes and textures are available?
Angle braces come in matte black, natural iron, oil-rubbed bronze, and hand-distressed finishes. Hammered, peened, and antique textures are applied in-house to match our bolts, straps, and rustic hardware collections.

5. Are your angle braces hand-forged?
The brace bodies are precision-cut and formed for uniform strength, while edges, textures, and finishes are hand-worked by our American blacksmiths. This gives each brace the dimensional, old-world character associated with true wrought iron.

6. What are the lead times and where are they made?
Most angle braces ship within 1–10 business days, depending on size, finish, and customization. All decorative and custom-finished pieces are made or finished in the USA at our Idaho forge.
