XL double doors are ideal for oversized wood-fired, commercial, or large-format residential ovens where a single door would be too heavy or cumbersome. Splitting the door into two panels makes operation smoother and improves heat control.

2. How are Old West Iron XL double doors different from other large door options on the market?
Our XL doors are crafted from heavy-gauge steel, reinforced internally, insulated for temperature stability, and finished by hand with forged textures. They outperform lightweight imports that tend to warp, flex, or fail under high heat.

3. How should I measure my oven to order an XL double-door set?
Measure the full height and width of your oven mouth, then divide the width measurement evenly to determine approximate sizing for each leaf. Be sure your oven face has enough space on both sides to anchor the oversized hinge plates.

4. What finish and texture choices are available for XL double doors?
These doors are offered in matte black, natural iron, oil-rubbed bronze, and multiple hand-distressed forged textures. Hammered, peened, and antique finishes are applied in-house to match traditional, rustic, or commercial-style oven builds.

5. Are your XL double doors hand-forged or partially hand-built?
The main steel panels are precision-cut for accurate geometry, while the hinges, handles, rivet accents, venting systems, and surface textures are all hand-worked by our American blacksmiths. Each set carries authentic Old World craftsmanship.

6. What is the lead time for XL double pizza oven doors, and where are they made?
Most XL double-door sets ship within 5–15 business days, depending on complexity, finish, and order volume. All XL doors are made or finished in the USA at our Idaho forge.

ATTENTION: Pizza oven doors with finishes cannot be used at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees. Paint exposed to these high temperatures will burn away, and if you must use this door above the recommended temperature we recommend a raw/unfinished door.

Our warranty only covers doors used within the recommended range; we are not responsible for any damage that occurs  at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees, regardless of finish color.
