1. When is a square or rectangular pizza oven door the best choice?
This style is ideal for ovens with flat-sided or modern openings, as well as custom-built masonry or steel ovens that don’t follow a traditional arch. They offer a clean, contemporary look while still sealing efficiently.

2. How do your square and rectangular doors compare to basic flat steel oven doors?
Old West Iron doors are constructed from heavy-gauge steel, insulated for superior heat retention, and finished with forged textures and riveted detailing. They outperform lightweight, uninsulated versions commonly sold online.

3. How do I measure my oven opening to ensure a proper fit?
Measure the full width and height of your opening and choose a door that extends slightly beyond those dimensions for proper sealing. Also confirm your surrounding masonry or metal frame can accommodate hinges or a surface-mounted design.

4. What finish and surface texture options are available?
These doors can be ordered in matte black, natural iron, oil-rubbed bronze, and multiple hand-distressed finishes. Our hammered, peened, and antique textures are applied in-house to give each door a true Old World or rustic-modern appearance.

5. Are your square and rectangular oven doors handmade or machine-built?
The door panels are precision-cut to maintain perfect geometry, while the handles, vents, rivets, hinge plates, and forged textures are all hand-worked by our American blacksmiths. Each door has the depth and character of traditional ironwork.

6. What are the shipping lead times, and where are the doors produced?
Most square and rectangular oven doors ship within 5-15 business days, depending on size, finish, and configuration. All decorative and custom-finished doors are made or finished in the USA at our Idaho forge.

ATTENTION: Pizza oven doors with finishes cannot be used at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees. Paint exposed to these high temperatures will burn away, and if you must use this door above the recommended temperature we recommend a raw/unfinished door.

Our warranty only covers doors used within the recommended range; we are not responsible for any damage that occurs  at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees, regardless of finish color.
