A custom door is built to match the exact width and height of your oven opening, ensuring precise fitment and better temperature control. It’s designed around your oven’s shape rather than relying on generic dimensions.

2. Why choose an Old West Iron custom-made door over a universal flat steel door?
Our custom doors are constructed from heavy-gauge steel, insulated for heat stability, and finished with hand-forged textures and riveted details. They offer a level of craftsmanship, durability, and authentic style that mass-produced flat doors can’t match.

3. How do I measure correctly for a custom square or rectangular door?
Measure the full width and height of your oven opening, checking for irregularities in stone or masonry. Choose a door size that extends slightly beyond the opening so it seals properly while allowing enough surface area for mounting hinges or brackets.

4. What finish and texture options are available for these custom doors?
You can select matte black, natural iron, oil-rubbed bronze, or one of our hand-distressed forged finishes. Hammered, peened, and antique textures are applied in-house to complement both modern and traditional oven designs.

5. How much of each custom door is hand-forged or hand-finished?
While the primary panels are precision-cut for perfect geometry, the handles, hinge plates, vents, rivet accents, and all surface textures are hand-worked by our American blacksmiths. Each door reflects true Old World craftsmanship.

6. What is the lead time for custom square or rectangular pizza oven doors, and where are they made?
Most custom doors ship within 5–15 business days, depending on finish, complexity, and current order volume. All custom and hand-finished doors are made or completed in the USA at our Idaho forge.

ATTENTION: Pizza oven doors with finishes cannot be used at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees. Paint exposed to these high temperatures will burn away, and if you must use this door above the recommended temperature we recommend a raw/unfinished door.

Our warranty only covers doors used within the recommended range; we are not responsible for any damage that occurs  at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees, regardless of finish color.
