1. What makes an XL hinged pizza oven door different from regular-sized hinged doors?
XL hinged doors are designed for oversized or commercial-style ovens. They provide a larger coverage area, heavier construction, and reinforced hinge support to handle the added mass and heat output of big-format ovens.

2. How do Old West Iron XL hinged doors compare to large imported metal doors?
Our XL doors use thick steel, internal reinforcement, and hand-forged textures that mimic historic wood-fired oven doors. They’re insulated, structurally stable, and crafted for long-term performance—unlike thin, lightweight imports that warp under high heat.

3. How do I know which XL door dimensions my oven requires?
Measure the full height and width of your oven mouth, ensuring you account for any arch, stone irregularities, or uneven surfaces. Also confirm there is ample masonry on each side to mount the oversized hinge plates securely.

4. What finish and texture options can I choose for an XL hinged door?
XL doors are available in matte black, natural iron, oil-rubbed bronze, and our full range of hand-distressed forged textures. Hammered, peened, and antique finishes are applied in-house to complement large rustic, Mediterranean, or professional ovens.

5. Are the XL hinged doors hand-forged or partially hand-built?
The main body is precision-cut for stability, while the hinges, handles, vents, rivets, and forged textures are all hand-worked by our American blacksmiths. This blend of precision and craftsmanship gives each door authentic Old World presence.

6. How long does an XL hinged pizza oven door take to ship, and where is it made?
Most XL hinged doors ship within 5–15 business days, depending on size, finish, and current order volume. All XL doors are made or finished in the USA at our Idaho forge.

ATTENTION: Pizza oven doors with finishes cannot be used at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees. Paint exposed to these high temperatures will burn away, and if you must use this door above the recommended temperature we recommend a raw/unfinished door.

Our warranty only covers doors used within the recommended range; we are not responsible for any damage that occurs  at temperatures higher than 1,200 degrees, regardless of finish color.
