These iron post caps can be used indoor and because of our multiple coats in a rust preventative finish, they can also be used outdoors as well. These items are not only adding an amazing decorative finish that brings the home together but also adding protective covering to your post. Unlike usual wooden or vinyl post caps these iron post cap require less maintenance yet provide more structure. We have many options to choose from allowing you to go from a simplistic look or an all out piece of it's own. We are happy to assist with any custom sizing that you are not able to find online.

United States4x4 is not 4"x4"
The product is beautiful and as advertised. When I ordered a post cap for a 4x4 I was expecting it to be for dimensional lumber that is actually3.5x3.5. The cap is made to fit a true 4inch x4inch post. My bad and I will figure out a way to shim/attach the caps onto the footboard bed posts.

We do our best to make everything true to size (we do allow for up to 1/8" variations just due to the way items are made) because some customers use dimensional lumber, others use hand hewn, or uncommon sizes and this typically results in less errors. What is the difference between screws, clavos, and lags? Especially if I was ordering the smallest post cap with the shabby chic style. The picture appears to be a graphic rather than the real thing and it isn't clear where you'd fasten the cap to the post. Is the pattern machine-made? Like punched out or something? (Forgive my ignorant questions.) Also, if I were to order a corner piece to protect the inner corner of the post, would I measure the whole post and you will subtract the height of the cap or do I need to figure that out? On the post caps you can hammered the clavos (decorative nails) to hold the post cap on or it can just sit on top of the post or you can screw it on with a lag or decorative screw. The images are graphics until I get the real images up. We offer that you can choose the over all look. If you want 2 nails on each side, you would choose clavos and then the quantity per side. For example, on the simple post cap where you see the square pyramid screw head, whichever fastener you choose would replace those. That image has 3 on one side if you choose 2, then there will only be 2 holes on each side to use whichever clavos, lag, or screw you want. I hope that helps.
