This 5-foot Viking broad axe is inspired by the Langeid axe found in southern Norway from the early 11th century. It features an artistic Elder Futhark rune engraving on the carbon steel blade and a Petersen Type M axe head with a sharp edge that has been heated treated to a 56-58 Rockwell scale hardness. The handle is made from aged teakwood and securely attached with copper rivets, making it sturdy and durable for light use. Included in the purchase is a premium brown leather sheath for safe storage and transport. Specifications include a 5' ash handle, 8.5" long 1095 carbon steel axe-head with a 9.25" width, and a 55-58 RC hardness, weighing 4.9 lbs.
